Overview

Lev2Euro ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Lev2Euro mobile application (the "App"). This policy applies to all users of our App.

Information We Collect

1. Information You Provide Directly

  • Camera Images: When you use the price scanning feature, we temporarily process images from your device's camera to perform optical character recognition (OCR). These images are processed locally on your device.
  • Photo Library Images: When you select images from your photo library for scanning, these images are processed locally and only used for OCR. We do not store, transmit, or access other photos in your library.
  • Saved Scans: When you save scan results, the following data is stored locally on your device:
    • Scanned images (JPEG format with 0.8 compression quality)
    • Detected prices and currency information
    • Confidence scores from OCR
    • Timestamps of when scans were created
    • Optional user notes you add to saved scans
  • Manual Input: Currency amounts you enter manually into the conversion calculator.
  • Inflation Data Requests: When you view inflation statistics, the app retrieves data from Eurostat's public API. These requests contain no personal information and are anonymized.
  • Q&A Interactions: Search queries and favorited questions are stored locally on your device to enhance your experience.

Note: Meta Audience Network serves ads through Google AdMob mediation. When ATT tracking is authorized, Meta receives device identifiers for personalized advertising. When tracking is denied, Meta serves contextual (non-personalized) ads.

Firebase Analytics (Google)
  • App usage statistics and user engagement metrics
  • Screen views (which features you access)
  • Feature interactions (currency conversions, OCR scans, inflation data views)
  • App launch events and session duration
  • Device and technical information (model, OS version, language)

  • General location (country/region level only, not precise location)
  • General demographic information (age range, gender) if available

Events tracked include:

  • Currency conversion events (conversion direction, quick amount usage, swap actions)
  • Camera and OCR events (scan attempts, success/failure, confidence levels)
  • Saved scans events (creation, viewing, deletion)
  • Inflation feature usage (stats opened, data refreshed, period changes, chart interactions)
  • Social sharing events (image generation, template selection)
  • Complaint feature usage (form opened, category selected)
  • Q&A interactions (content viewed, items expanded, favorites, search usage)
  • Export functionality (PDF/CSV generation)
  • In-app review requests shown
  • Ad events (impressions, clicks, load failures)
  • Purchase events (initiated, completed, restored, cancelled, failed)
  • App Tracking Transparency permission requests and results
  • Language and preference changes

Important: We do NOT track the actual amounts you convert, specific prices you scan, or any personal financial information.

RevenueCat (In-App Purchase Management)

Eurostat API (European Commission)
  • Anonymous API requests for Bulgarian inflation statistics
  • Request timestamp and data type (overall rate, category rates)
  • No personal data or identifiers transmitted
  • Data retrieved: Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Bulgaria and EU comparison

Note: Inflation data is publicly available from Eurostat and requires no authentication. Retrieved data is cached locally on your device to reduce network usage and improve performance.

3. Complaint and Reporting Feature (Optional)

The app provides information and links to Bulgarian authorities for reporting Euro transition violations:

  • Authority Information: The app displays relevant authority contact details based on your selected complaint category
  • External Links: When you choose to report a violation, the app opens the authority's website in your browser (NAP, KZP, BNB, KFN, or MEGO)
  • No Data Collection: We do not collect, store, or transmit any complaint information. The app only provides guidance and links to official authorities.
  • Analytics Only: We only track which complaint categories users view (not the content of complaints)

Important: The app does not submit complaints on your behalf. All complaint handling is done directly through the authority websites. We have no access to complaint data you provide to authorities.

4. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage mechanisms (UserDefaults and FileManager). This data is NOT transmitted to our servers:

  • Saved Scan Results: Up to 100 saved scans with images, prices, timestamps, and notes (stored in Documents directory)
  • Usage Metrics: Conversion count, scan count, and app launch count (used for in-app review prompts only)
  • User Preferences: Language selection, premium purchase status, App Tracking Transparency permission status
  • Q&A Data: Search history and favorited questions for quick access
  • Cached Inflation Data: Recent inflation statistics from Eurostat (refreshed periodically)
  • Review Request History: Timestamps and counts to prevent excessive review prompts (max 3 requests per year with 30-day cooldown)

Storage Limits: Saved scans are limited to 100 items. When this limit is reached, the oldest scan is automatically deleted. All local data is deleted when you uninstall the app.

5. Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Personal Identity: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other personal identifiers unless you provide them directly for support purposes.
  • Precise Location: We do not access or collect your precise location data.
  • Temporary Scan Images: Images used for scanning (not saved by you) are processed locally and immediately discarded after OCR processing.
  • Financial Data: We do not store credit card information or payment details (handled securely by Apple's App Store).
  • Conversion Amounts: We do not track or store the specific amounts you convert.
  • Q&A Search Terms: Analytics only track that a search was performed, not the actual search terms.
  • Photo Library Contents: We only access the specific image you select for scanning, not your entire photo library.

How We Use Your Information

Primary App Functions

  • Currency Conversion: Process conversion calculations between Bulgarian Lev (BGN) and Euro (EUR)
  • OCR Scanning: Analyze images to detect and extract price information from receipts and documents
  • Saved Scans Management: Store your scan results locally with images, prices, and notes for future reference
  • Export Functionality: Generate PDF and CSV files from your saved scans for sharing or record-keeping
  • Social Sharing: Create branded images containing your scan results and conversion data for sharing on social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
  • Inflation Statistics: Retrieve and display official Consumer Price Index (CPI) data from Eurostat to provide economic context for currency values
  • Q&A Reference: Provide informational content about Euro transition for educational purposes
  • Complaint Guidance: Direct users to appropriate Bulgarian authorities for reporting violations
  • User Experience: Remember your preferences and provide localized content in Bulgarian and English
  • App Functionality: Ensure proper app operation and maintain conversion accuracy

Analytics and Improvement

  • Performance Monitoring: Track app performance, identify bugs, and prevent crashes
  • Usage Analytics: Understand how users interact with the app to improve features
  • Feature Development: Analyze usage patterns to develop new features and improvements

Advertising and Monetization

  • Ad Serving: Display relevant advertisements through Google AdMob and Meta Audience Network (via mediation)

  • Authorities: NAP, KZP, BNB, KFN, MEGO (Bulgarian government agencies)
  • Data Shared: None from the app. The app only opens their websites.
  • Purpose: Provide users with official channels for reporting Euro transition violations
  • User Responsibility: Any data you provide directly to authority websites is subject to their privacy policies
  • App Role: We only provide information and links; we do not process or submit complaints

Eurostat (European Commission)

  • Data Shared: None (anonymous API requests only)
  • Purpose: Retrieve official Bulgarian inflation statistics and EU comparison data

  • Data Processing: Eurostat operates within the European Union jurisdiction

Data Storage and Security

Local Processing

  • OCR Processing: All image processing and text recognition occurs locally on your device using Apple's Vision framework
  • Conversion Calculations: Currency conversions are performed locally using a fixed exchange rate
  • No Cloud Storage: We do not store your personal data or images on our servers

Data Security Measures

  • Encryption: All data transmitted to third-party services is encrypted using industry-standard protocols
  • Minimal Data Collection: We collect only the minimum data necessary for app functionality
  • Local Storage: App preferences and settings are stored locally on your device using iOS's secure storage mechanisms
  • Third-Party Security: We work with reputable third-party services that maintain high security standards

Data Retention

  • Saved Scans: Stored locally on your device until you manually delete them or reach the 100-scan limit (oldest automatically deleted). All deleted when you uninstall the app.
  • Usage Metrics: Conversion counts, scan counts, and review request history stored locally until app deletion
  • User Preferences: Language, premium status, and settings stored locally until app deletion
  • Cached Inflation Data: Stored locally and refreshed periodically; deleted when you uninstall the app
  • Q&A Data: Search history and favorites stored locally until app deletion
  • Temporary Files: Exported PDF/CSV files created in temporary directory, automatically deleted by iOS
  • Analytics Data: Retained by Firebase Analytics for up to 14 months according to Google's policy
  • Purchase Data: Retained by RevenueCat and Apple according to their policies for transaction verification
  • Complaint Data: Not stored by our app. We only provide links to authorities.

Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Data Control

  • Saved Scans Management: Delete individual saved scans or clear all scans within the app
  • App Deletion: Delete the app to permanently remove all locally stored data (saved scans, preferences, cache)
  • Camera Permissions: Revoke camera access in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera > Lev2Euro
  • Photo Library Permissions: Revoke photo access in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos > Lev2Euro
  • Q&A Data: Clear search history and favorites by deleting individual items or clearing all within the app
  • Export Data: Export your saved scans to PDF or CSV format before deletion for backup purposes

Advertising Controls

  • Limit Ad Tracking: iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising > Personalized Ads (turn off)
  • Reset Advertising ID: iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising > Reset Advertising ID
  • Premium Purchase: Remove ads entirely by purchasing the premium version

Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

User-Generated Content and Sharing

Social Media Sharing

The app allows you to generate branded images containing your scan results for sharing:

  • Content Generation: Images are created locally on your device with app branding, your scanned data, and conversion information
  • Sharing Method: Images are shared via iOS native share sheet to your chosen platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Messages, etc.)
  • Your Responsibility: You are solely responsible for content you share. We have no control over shared content once it leaves the app.
  • Privacy Notice: Shared images may contain sensitive information (prices, amounts). Review carefully before sharing.
  • Third-Party Platforms: Shared content is subject to the privacy policies and terms of the platforms you choose

Export Functionality

You can export saved scans to PDF or CSV format:

  • File Creation: Export files are created temporarily on your device
  • File Contents: Exported files contain scan images, prices, timestamps, notes, and metadata
  • Security: You are responsible for securing exported files and managing who has access to them
  • Data Retention: Exported files remain on your device or chosen destination until you delete them

Language Availability: This Privacy Policy is available in English and Bulgarian. In case of discrepancies between language versions, the Bulgarian version shall prevail.
